GIG Membership

There are 3 categories for membership at GIG; Individual Members, Hub/Organizational Members, and Supporting Members.

Individual and Hub Members are added to the main communication channels of the network while Supporting Members are integrated differently into the network.

Individual Membership

Members are innovators, makers, technologists changemakers, and individuals active in and involved with innovation hubs, makerspaces, hackerspaces and other grassroot innovation community spaces and initiatives.

Benefits

• Access to and knowledge of an international community of innovators and innovation space managers and its partners, who share their knowledge on topics like hub sustainability, business development, personal and professional development, and practical solutions
• Access to a network of potential collaborators and multipliers, possibilities to collaborate in projects
• Access to the GIG internal communication channels, like the mailing list and Whatsapp group.
• Opportunities to be invited to, and participate in international events aligned with our values
• Visibility through events, talks, the website and other channels
• Support in networking with funders, donors and other potential partners
• Support in applying for joint project proposals
• Policy advocacy dialogue and support in interacting with policymakers
• Access to and bridges between policy-makers, researchers, and practitioners

Fees

30 EUR for active members residing within the EU or having a European Bank Account. Members outside the EU can be exempted from paying the 30 EUR fees. Members can always pay a higher amount to support the association.

Hub membership

Hub members are community innovation spaces and grassroots social initiatives; Makerspace, Innovation Hub, Social impact-driven organizations and other networks organizations…etc. Only individual members can join after becoming GIG members as Hub members.
